GMC Denali, a version of General Motor’s SUV’s recently releases a new version. This is the 2009 GMC Denali. The difference of this model is that it gives an aura of confident road presence due to its muscular form and wide firmly planted stance. It also has minimal overhangs, large wheels, sleek headlamps and a low roof profile. These characteristics allow this car to give an aggressive and performance-oriented appearance. Lets take a closer look at the differences between the 2005 gmc yukon denali and the 2009 gm yukon denali

Unlike the 2009 GMC Denali, the 2005 Denali has a V8 engine capable with a 325 horsepower and a 370-lb/ft torque. This engine power though is a bit low as you can only drive at 12 mpg around the city and 16 mpg on the highway.

But with the 2009 Denali, General Motor’s has combined two-mode hybrid system with the E-85 ethanol capable engine. Giving this car a new and a more fuel-efficient 4.9L SIDI engine with Active Fuel Management powers with an estimated horsepower of 326. This car also uses an 85% ethanol and 15% gas fuel.

Unlike the 2005 gmc yukon denali model which uses the GM’s quadrasteer 4-wheel steering. A design that reduces turning cycle at low speeds and enhances stability at higher speeds and during towing. The 2009 GMC Denali uses a 4-link suspension design for its steering wheel. A design that uses coil over shocks and has a decoupled stabilizer bar that enhances cowering control. This design can also lessen body roll and maximize longitudinal compliance. Allowing this car to haul cargo on twisting roads.

The concept of a unibody structure of the 2009 yukon Denali gave it a truck platform. It even has a payload capacity of 1100 pounds and a 3500 pounds capacity for towing. The stiffness of this model is greater than most conventional body on frame trucks, which gives it a 4-wheel independent suspension mounting point. Allowing this car to have a performance feel on the road.

The 2005 Denali can accommodate up to 9 persons with its 3 row seats. The third row though can be folded, flipped, slides or easily removed depending on your needs. The second row can also be individually adjusted: offering excellent support. But the 2009 model only has a two-row seat. And if you are carrying a longer object in the bed like a ski or surf, you can just open the midgate to remove the second row seats.

The 2005 Denali is a car that looks like a Tahoe while the 2009 gmc yukon denali model is a hybrid between the suburban and the pick up at the back. Choosing between the two models depends on what you want and need.
