Denali is the nameplate given to some of the luxury models and pick –up trucks of General Motors. The name Denali symbolizes power and prestige. Yukon Denali, Yukon XL Denali, Envoy Denali, Envoy XL Denali, Sierra Denali are the models available under the Denali name.In spite of all their sophistication, there are shortcomings in the 2005 Denali line. There is no storage or luggage space available in the car. The navigation system is said to be very difficult to use and is of very little help as it does not work properly when on the road. The finish of the car is said to peel off very fast.

There are very few electrical hot points provided. It offers low gas mileage and low fuel economy. It is also expensive to upgrade to the optional 20 inches wheel package.

Many customers also complain about the quality of the leather seats and the wood trim. The sunroof also has to be manually operated by a switch and does not work on automatic controls. Coming to the sound system, it is said to cause some problems occasionally with the volume and controls of the radio and the CD player not operating smoothly.

The leather seats provided are very uncomfortable and as such it can cause great inconvenience especially during long journeys. The size of the Denali models also make it difficult to park. The facility provided for cup holders is also not adequate.

 The third row seats are really uncomfortable with no cargo space and the rear end is not that intact. Its high ground clearance makes visibility difficult. Above all, the cost of these vehicles is so much that only after a lot of consideration and thought, they should be purchased

Water leaking through the headliner is also possible. There is no provision for features like snow chains which could have helpful in times of bad weather. The speedometer provided also is very sensitive and shows incorrect readings many times. Even the customer reports that came out for 2005 GMC Denali rated it below average in the areas of suspension and drive system.

Thus the GMC Denali line is internationally famous,it has several shortcomings which need to be taken care of for the customers satisfaction and for the company’s reputation. But every car company will make a lemon every now and again. In my opinion, if you have a chance to get a 2005 gmc yukon denali, dont pass it up!
